Wretches and grenadiers keep at a distance and they are harmless, use grenades or explosive shot on groups of wretches and I like to use bayonet or chainsaw on grenadiers if it is safe to do so. I have played 4 campaigns and had different playstyles every time so do what you are comfortable with and go for it, adaptability is key. Also in control missions enemies spawn every two turns so keep that in mind and reload in between waves if you can. Time management on the back of my last point it's important to take your time and get cool downs off and regroup etc but keep an eye on your timer or red zone in scavenger missions.
